Oh dear, now I'm wanting to start a blog for video game pontification. I'm sure it'll pass... who needs a blog when you have mastodon? :)
I think my favorite part is how the game's reward structure is also the fun part of the game. I don't feel like I'm being encouraged to do something I don't want to do in order to do something I want to do.
There's something soothing about the streamlined gameplay loop of Elite: Dangerous.

Picked up Elite: Dangeous last night.
Combat is still as difficult as I remember, and space looks very "gamey" compared to... say... No Man's Sky. That being said, I love the immersive menus, very detailed space stations, and dynamic faction system in the universe. Also, manual docking and landing is waaaay more fun than I thought it'd be!!!
Something that's always kind of bugged me about gamedev stuff on bird website is like...
Any dev above a certain notoriety doesn't really talk about their development anymore. It's more of the hot takes variety, or little bite size clips to show off to try to grab attention.
Nobody talks about the nuts and bolts of development because it's over the heads of most people; or worse attracts the sort of player who's looking to pick a fight because they don't understand how design works.

OK getting this frame for my #mtg prints. This is so much nicer than the cheap target frames, and it costs about as much.

So I've been playing more digital #mtg lately.
Honestly the best part about digital magic over paper is being able to get right into another game when you lose.
At FNM, there are a lot of reasons why losing is even less fun than usual:
* You put on pants, drove to the LGS, and spent money to lose a game
* You have to wait around for the next round to start while dwelling on your loss
* If you're losing a lot, you might get a bye, which means playing even less.
I think Kakapoko's target market is "TCG players who want to cosplay as Seto Kaiba from Episode 1 every day".
Ah, rule #0 keeps biting me in the ass.
"Every system you setup for test and development will be used as a crucial, essential and necessary part of production."
Stuff I setup as a test 3 years ago is now being used by production. 😑
Uggggh how much longer until these inexperienced driver surcharges go awaaaaay
Woooo taxes are almost done.
Never got around to posting my RIX prerelease deck and pool. First time doing an Izzet deck, so even though I lost a lot, I think I learned how to play it properly? Moreso than before? #mtg https://social.isharacomix.org/media/kWxrDDNt7yAPYnq-s9U
